Who we are

Pakistan Alliance for Early Childhood (PAFEC) is a National Alliance of Early Childhood Development (ECD) stakeholders in Pakistan. It is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) under section 42 of the Companies Act, 2017. This strategic Alliance intends to serve as an open platform to promote holistic and inclusive ECD approaches and practices in the country through research and learning, experience sharing, policy advocacy, networking, awareness raising, and professional development.

  • 1st 1,000 days as a strategic window for the improvement of mother and child health is part of Punjab’s Integrated Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health and Nutrition programme.
  • Provincial newborn survival strategy is developed and implemented
  • Developed ECCE Policy in 2017 focusing on children’s holistic development from ages 3 -5
  • ECD/ECCE Workforce is being developed and infrastructure is improved following the policy

ECD/ECCE Landscape in Sindh

  • Developed ECCE Policy in 2015, ECCE Standards in 2017 and ECCE Curriculum in 2018
  • ECCE teachers recruited and trained Around 4000 ECCE Classrooms are furnished
  • Provincial health sector strategy and IYCF policy is in place with a focus on mothers and children nutrition
  • Provincial newborn survival strategy is developed and implemented
  • Provincial Institute of Teacher Education is responsible for training ECE teachers
