The Foundations for Health and Empowerment (F4HE) initiative, supported by Aga Khan Foundation Canada and the Government of Canada, has developed a comprehensive collection of training manuals, literacy guides, and reference books based on the Nurturing Care Framework to strengthen the capacity of Early Childhood Development (ECD) professionals and empower parents in Pakistan. The resources place a strong emphasis on play-based learning and local games, recognizing their proven role in promoting young children’s holistic growth, learning, and development.

In 2021, Save the Children developed the first-of-its-kind Remote Assessment of Learning (ReAL) toolkit to provide the sector with a valid and reliable way to assess hard-to-reach children’s foundational literacy, numeracy, and social and emotional skills when face-to-face administration wasn’t possible.
